Pottery

The difference between putting the under-glaze on after the bisque firing and before the bisque firing. Maybe the 13.1 will work for a Halloween inspired half?!

I hope this one finds a happy home someday soon.

Hand-built mug! I'm quite in love with it.

Whatever.

More pottery came out of the kiln this weekend. The photos John took makes them appear much larger and more functional than they are :) but I am super excited about the glazes and am incredibly excited to be creating things! (Trust me, anyone who asks me about it will get an earful!)

The most exciting thing thus far at UGA might be my recreational activities (no offense CPH). Once I decided on the MPH program at UGA, I also decided to start taking pottery classes at Good Dirt. Maybe even before. :)

I’m taking their beginning wheel class. It’s an 8 week class where we learn to make basic pottery forms like bowls mugs and plates. We also get some glazing technique instruction.

Below are a few photos so far:

My first three pieces are the two closest and the one kind of in the middle. The rudimentary ones. :D
